You and your family facilitator will meet frequently to explore what it means to be a parent. Learn about your child's development and practice skills in the privacy of your home.
Parenting Groups with Learning Activities for You and Your Baby
Groups are focused on exploring and learning with your child using STEEPTM. Every other week you and your child will attend a group meeting with other moms. We will have Circle time, songs and conversation around a meal. Then children are encouraged to stay for children's group time / childcare while moms attend their own group time.
Sobriety Maintenance and Relapse Prevention Services
Alternating with the parenting group, you will have a sobriety group. Here you will explore and learn what it takes to look at your sobriety in a meaningful way. These groups are facilitated by our licensed alcohol and drug counselor.
Doula Services (Childbirth Support)
All family facilitators are DONA trained doulas. We help to provide continuous support through out the entire birthing process using various comfort measures. We are NOT midwives, nurses or doctors. We merely are "mothering the mother".
Advocacy and Support
Involved with child protection? Do you need help asking questions? We are here to offer support for court hearings, submit progress reports on your behalf, go to doctor visits (both mom and child) and encourage questions, and supporting the family's all-around well being.
Family Events
About every other month, A Circle of Women hosts a Family Day. These days are usually themed-based "parties" and provide an opportunity for our Monday and Thursday groups to come together and share. Clients are encouraged to bring their partners and children. During our Family Days the family gets the opportunity to do craft activites, read, sing and share in a special meal together.
Videotaping of Your Child's Development to Help You Appreciate Your Baby's Cues
Seeing is BelievingTM is a way to build on your positive parenting experiences. Monthly you and your facilitator will set up a time to videotape your interactions with your child. This gives you the chance to reflect and see the great things you do as a mom.
Light Meal and a Chance to be with Other Parents
Upon arriving you are immediately welcomed to join in a light meal before circle time and group time. You and your children have the chance to share a meal together and join other group members in a time of togetherness.
